Over two PD sessions, the staff looked into the process of a student led inquiry. We discussed, argued, agreed and disagreed on 7 stages which would feature in our inquiry process. These steps may be linear or cyclical as reflection and adaption occur throughout the process.
Our seven stage were:
Just deciding on the seven words took one PD session! On to day two. In groups we decided what each word meant to us. Could we define each word? Could we illustrate what it would look like in our classroom? What would the deliberate acts of teaching be at each stage? What skills would students show/acquire during each stage?
We went from 7 words to about 7000 (well it felt like that when I was typing it up!)
